Special Games

After a few years of watching Japanese baseball, things can get a little repetitive. If there's any place in the world ripe for inter-league play, it is Japan. With six teams in each of the two leagues, it can get a little dull watching the same teams battle each other.

Fortunately, until then, there are still some events throughout the season which may help baseball fans find something to get excited about.

Exhibition games: enjoy pre-season games without the hassles you find going to regular season games.

Rainy day games: five teams play in domes, the others are have to deal with rain delays and make-up games.

All-star games: Japan's best players on one field. Each year, Sanyo sponsors two all-star competitions.

Giants games: strategies to help you get tickets to see Japan's most popular team.

Yankees Day: get free tickets and see a Nippon Ham Fighters game at the Tokyo Dome.

Japan Series: Japan's World Series is held every October, and features the best team from the Pacific and Central leagues.

Major League tours: your best chance to compare Major League and Japanese players.

Fans Day: more a festival than a game, each team honors their supporters in late November.
